LUCE DIPINTA II: Alex Rowbotham (Italy)

For the second time the Painting with Light festival will present large-scale images, with sound, directly on to the walls of Coldrano Castle, transforming it into a huge canvas using the projected images and sound of 'Luce dipinta' II. This digital multivision will also embrace the work of other multivision artists by encorporating their works into this evening of "Luce dipinta II". Alex Rowbotham worked closely with composer Andrew T. Mackay of the Bombay Dub Orchestra (UK) who created the original music score especially for this event as in 2006.

This edition of Luce Dipinta II is a collaboration between, Alex Rowbotham (IT), Francesco Lopergolo (IT), Mal Padgett (Australia) and Steve Donnet (Australia).

Isadora Duncan, Eleonora Duse, Frida Khalo, Tamara de Lempicka, Tina Modotti: revolutionary women for their ideas, their tenacity, their willpower, originality, patience and responsibility. Women with an extreme awareness to have something to achieve. Something unique and unrepeatable.
"A life in the first row" is a visual and audio journey dedicated to the life of these women with the objective to explore the feminine artistic and discover the contribution they have donated to the world of art.

Painting the chapel

This installation is a collaborative project between many artists, some experienced professionals, some amateurs and also artists using projections for the first time. Their contributions are combined to create a moving canvas on the walls of the castle chapel.

The images and sound used are selected or created by each contributing artist. Finished work is supplied in template form and finally 'assembled' to form one complete loop.
