Todd Gipstein has been a writer, photographer and producer for National Geographic since 1987. He has created scores of multi-image shows for the Geographic about history, geography, culture, nature, the environment, photography and exploration. These shows have been screened throughout the world at events involving education, photography, advertising and tourism. The National Geographic Society was founded in 1888. Its mission is to back exploration and promote the increase and sharing of knowledge about our world.

It weaves together the work of the Society’s photographers and explorers in the field with activities and programs at headquarters.   The Story Behind the Stories

A journey through the world of animals. It examines their beauty, their lives, their souls. Kingdom also explores the relationship between humans and animals. This multi-image poem has no narration. Kingdom presents a series of vignettes and asks viewers to open their minds and hearts and interpret the show for themselves.

This show presents the beauty and dignity of wild creatures in their natural habitats. It also shows how humans have wounded the environment, threatening wildlife. “Fragile Nature” uses no words as it tells its story through compelling photographs and powerful music, The show seeks to create an emotional connection between viewers and the creatures of the wild. We see a number of endangered species who need our help. Either we chose to nurture and protect wildlife or, by doing nothing, risk losing the essential diversity it adds to our world. In the end, the fate of fragile nature is in our hands.

Presenting the African photography of Chris Johns, a National Geographic photographer and now editor of the Geographic Magazine. Created for a meeting in Japan, the show had no narration that would require translation. It presents Johns’ stunning photographs set to music, allowing viewers to focus on and interpret the images for themselves.. This show also explores how the indigenous peoples of Africa relate to wildlife in their art and rituals.

Four National Geographic photographers share their experiences shooting pictures in the underwater realm. David Doubilet, Bill Curtsinger, Flip Nicklin and Emory Kristof have spent decades photographing some of the world’s most exotic creatures and underwater phenomenon. Their stories include encounters with giant manta rays, seals, whales, sharks and the wreck of the Titanic. They also share their passion for the oceans and deliver a strong conservation message.
