We are still accepting applications of digital work. Before completing the form please read the following criteria.

1. Painting with Light Festival recommends the following 4 formats for digital projection, however all formats will be considered for screening at the festival. Please download your free line-up grid files from the list below. If your work is accepted we may ask that it be reconfigured to meet these approved standards. Please do not be deterred, if in doubt contact us.

4. Surround sound is not available, please make sure your audio is stereo, or mono (same audio L & R)


5. If you are submitting a Watchout show, please consolidate it after making sure your audio file/s are on display 1 and the display positions start with display 1 at 1000px from the left and 1000px from the top. The screen IPs should be:

6. Do not use stickers or print on the CD/DVD. Please use a permanent black marker-pen to write CLEARLY the following details on the disc itself:

PAINTED CHAPEL - technical details and instructions

This project aims to combine short movies or animations from various artists. The ideas are entirely their own however, it is suggested that the content be related to the building in some way. We have added a few photographs for those who cannot visit to be more familiar with its surroundings. There are also examples from movies made already.

You should also consider the audio carefully too, choose something that reflects the sentiment of your message rather than just using a piece of music you like.

We will provide you with templates (masks and mattes) so that you can place content accurately to appear on the correct part of the building. We have calculated and tested the angle of projection and the perspective, so if you follow the template your work will fit perfectly. There is also a white outline of the building which you can use in the movie if you wish. Your work will be 1024x768.

To take part in this project you must first register with us before 30th June using the contact form. We can then send you the link to download the templates and add your name to the list of artists on the website and in the program. You must then deliver your final movie (in one of the above formats) to reach us before 14th July 2008.
